Panel Session Guidelines

The allotted time for a panel is 90 minutes.
The general rules of the panel session are as follows:
First, the chairperson introduces the main topic of the panel.
Next, three paper presenters give their presentation (each speaker is allowed no more than 15 minutes for her/his presentation).
Following the presentation, the discussant gives remarks on each paper.
A group discussion and questions from the audience will follow.

The chairperson is responsible for keeping the time. Please make sure the presenters do not exceed the time limit.

The chairperson and discussant for each panel should receive presentation paperes in advance.
Those who submitted an individual paper proposal will be informed of email addresses of the chairperson and discussant of the assigned panel by February 2015.
In general, papers should be sent to the chair and discussant up to two weeks in advance of the Congress.

The presenters may upload their papers directly onto the Congress website. The upload system will be available by April 2015. Please wait for more information.

 

Technical Equipment

All panel and roundtable sessions will take place at Kanda University of International Studies. For each panel and roundtable sessions, Windows PC (Windows 7, Office 2013, English version) will be available. Each PC will be connected to either a television screen set or a projector.
For those who plan to give your presentation on a Mac device: Please make sure to bring an adapter to connect to theHDMI or VGA from an output port on your Mac device.

All participants who use beamer presentation are required to bring your slides on memory stick (or other visual presentation data or your own laptop if you prefer touse your own PC or Mac) at least three hours prior to your presentation. In order to avoid technical problems at the session, Congress technicians will examine the projection of your presentation beforehand.
For morning sessions on Wednesday, August 5 – Saturday, August 8, 2015, please bring your slides on memory stick (or other visual presentation data or your own laptop if you prefer to use your own PC or Mac) to the Media Check Room the evening before.
