1) Research on Views of Life and Death

  Research and study of the Japanese view of life and death. Comparison with other countries, especially in cooperation with researchers in the psychology and sociology of death.

2) Research on Spirituality

  Research and study of people who personally believe in and practice spirituality outside of religious organizations.

3) Sustainability Research

  Involvement in the organization of a research foundation on "Sustainability and the Humanities" mainly by researchers at the University of Tokyo. Research on the ideas of Shōzō Tanaka, especially their implications for environmental ethics.
