Western Ancient Philosophy, Ethics, and the History of Ethical Thought

1) Ancient Greek Philosophy

His research focuses on Aristotle's ethics and themes such as happiness, virtue, and pleasure in ancient Greece. His current primary interest is in discussions about “emotions,” including pleasure and pain (ancient theories of emotions).

2) Tourism Ethics

This research investigates “tourism ethics,” an applied ethics field exploring the appropriate nature of tourism. It aims to clarify the characteristics of this discipline and evaluate the effectiveness of a virtue ethics approach in this field.

3) Reception of Ancient Greek Philosophy in the History of Ethical Thought

The research aims to trace how the philosophies and ideas of Plato and Aristotle were received and integrated into the history of ethical thought in both Western and Japanese contexts.
