Her research focuses on Daoist thought and the exchange and development of thought, literature, images, and local practices in East Asia. She is particularly interested in the representation of female immortals and female divine figures, the reception and reconfiguration of Daoist thought, and the ways in which intellectual culture is reinterpreted within literature and everyday cultural life. Based mainly on textual materials, her work has examined female immortal biographies, Daoist diagrams such as the Wuyue zhenxing tu, and the reception of Daoism in early modern Japan. Through these topics, she aims to clarify the regional development of East Asian thought and culture.
