1) Social Functions of Kofun Construction in the Japanese Archipelago
Focusing on the 3rd to 6th centuries CE, when Kofun were actively constructed throughout the Japanese archipelago, this research examines the social functions fulfilled by Kofun construction in early Japanese society.
2) Mechanisms of Interregional Commonality in Kofun Construction
This research aims to elucidate the mechanisms through which broad interregional commonalities and coordination emerged in kofun construction, with particular attention to processes of social interaction and the formation of hierarchical structures.
