Philosophy

1) Philosophy of Life, Existential Philosophy, Phenomenology, Hermeneutics

Critical readings of Western philosophical texts from the mid-19th to the 20th century, with particular emphasis on existential philosophy, phenomenology, and hermeneutics. A central focus of his research is the critical re-examination of the potential and limitations of Heidegger’s philosophy.

2) Modern Japanese Philosophy

A critical examination of modern Japanese philosophical texts, focusing on key figures such as Nishida Kitarō, Kuki Shūzō, and Watsuji Tetsurō.

3) Revitalization of Existential Philosophy

His research seeks to construct a new system of existential philosophy that phenomenologically elucidates the structures of fundamental human phenomena such as emotion, understanding, language, action, time-consciousness, co-existence, history, art, and religion.
