統合的認知の心理学
ーAORTASプロジェクトー

我々は、視覚系の情報処理過程によって、周囲環境もしくは外的世界についての豊富で詳細な情報を得ることができる。そ
のような過程における、様々な特徴や多感覚を結び付ける統合的認知の役割を解明することが重要
である。旧来の脳科学や神経生理学で取組まれている要素還元的な脳機能の理解ではなく、人間の行動を理解するための認知心理学的なアプローチを中心とする
研究を目指す。そこで、いくつかの研究課題に分けて、統合的認知に
関する研究を進めている。具体的には、注意(Attention)、オブジェクト・情景認知(Object & scene
perception)、身体と空間の表象(Representation of body and
space)、感覚融合認知(Trans-modal
perception)、美感(Aesthetics)、共感覚(Synesthesia)という研究テーマに取組んでおり、その頭文字をとってAORTASプロジェクトと名付けている。AORTASと
いう命名には、各研究テーマの解明が”大動脈(aortas)”となって、”心”の科学的理解に至るという研究目標が込められている。
