Since the placement of the standing stones in this photograph seem to correspond with the scale drawing PL.12 in Otoe, this photograph is considered to be stone circle No.4. However, there is no conclusive proof. According to Otoe, No.4 measured approximately 2 m in diameter and featured angular-shaped stacked stones which have not been excavated. -

Ⅵ-1 Box No. 43_01 Comment Stone circle No.5 measured approximately 4 m in diameter and there were about 10 standing stones on its circumference. This photograph shows the state of finding the standing stones. It was estimated that there would be angular-shaped stacked stones along the inside of the standing stones but almost no stacked stones were found in its center area at the start of the excavation. However, it was clarified that a part of the burial pit inside the standing stones had been excavated and backfilled with soil; the burial pit was excavated in 1955. -

Komai 1973: Fig. 15 ※Box No. S3_17 Comment This photograph shows the state of excavating inside the standing stone of stone circle No.5, which was done before and after finding a “burial pit” surrounded by stones inside the standing stones in 1952. However, during the excavation in 1955, the remains regarded as “a burial pit” were considered to be a secondary deposition of stones during the backfilling of the soil. Stone circle No.1 can be seen on the back left of this photograph. Also, it seems that No.2 is behind No.1, which was excavated inside the stone alignment. -

A part of stone circle No.7 can be seen in the innermost part of the photograph. -

Stone circle No.7, which was under excavation, can be seen on the right side of this photograph. -

Otoe reported that the stacked stones in the lower layer “folded into the fill of burial pit like a flower.” This photograph shows the stacked stones as above. An oval-shaped burial pit was found under the stacked stones, which measured 1.8 m in long diameter and 1.18 m deep. Two jade beads were found at the bottom of the burial pit. -

The flat stones were laid over the bottom of the burial pit. Also, 23 jade beads, 13 obsidian arrowheads, and a vermilion lacquer bow were found on its bottom. -

Komai 1973: Fig. 25Box No. 41_07 Comment Some stones lie scattered on the ground of stone circle No.13 as shown in OTE_47. However, standing stones and stacked stones were not clearly distinguishable. A square-shaped burial pit was found at an underground depth of 0.1 m, measuring approximately 2 m on the long side, 1.5 m on the short side, and 0.4 m in depth. Flat stones were laid over on the bottom of the burial pit. Also, 6 jade beads, 13 obsidian arrowheads, and some pieces of vermilion lacquer ware were found at the bottom.
