2. Main Activities
The International Humanities Project supports international events held at the Graduate School of Humanities and Sociology and the Faculty of Letters as co-sponsored initiatives. By widely disseminating information about these events, we aim to promote cross-disciplinary exchange. We are currently focusing on the following six activities:
(1) Support for International Events Co-Sponsored by the Graduate School
We provide financial and logistical assistance for international events held at the Faculty of Letters—such as conferences, workshops, and lectures—according to their scale and needs.
(2) Guest Lecturers for Undergraduate and Graduate Courses
We arrange special lectures by overseas scholars for courses offered in the Graduate School of Humanities and Sociology and the Faculty of Letters.
(3) Organizing International Conferences Hosted by the Project
We set key themes for advancing the project and hold two to three international research meetings each year.
(4) Publication of Translated Academic Articles
We translate important scholarly articles originally published in Japanese into English and other languages, and make them available through an online journal.
(5) International Partnerships and Network Building
We work to establish partnerships with overseas research institutions and scholars, with the goal of developing our project as an international hub.
(6) Project Website
We share our activities on our website and collect and disseminate research information from within and beyond our university.
