Noriyuki Takahashi

Born in 1970. Professor, Graduate School of Humanities and Sociology and Faculty of Letters, University of Tokyo.

Research on Medieval Japanese History. Major publications include: The Military System of the Kamakura Shogunate and the Gokenin System (Yoshikawa Kobunkan); Minamoto no Yoritomo (Yamakawa Shuppansha); A History of Japanese Military Affairs (Yoshikawa Kobunkan, co-authored); Imperial Succession: Reflecting on History and Assessing Change (Yamakawa Shuppansha, co-authored); Jr. History of Japan 3: The Dawn of the Samurai Era (Shogakukan, co-authored). Edited works include: History of Life and Culture 5: War and Peace (Chikurin-sha), Lectures on Medieval History: War and Conflict (Chikuma Shobo), The Present State of Japanese History 3: The Medieval Period (Yamakawa Shuppansha), Lectures on Medieval History: From the Insei Period to the Warring States Era (Chikuma Shobo, co-edited), among others.
