How to Get to The University of Tokyo's Hongo Campus

Location of the University
The University of Tokyo (Hongo Campus) is located at Bunkyo-ku in Tokyo. The stations near the university are Ueno and Okachimachi on the JR Yamanote line, Ochanomizu on the JR Chuo line, and Keisei-Ueno on the Keisei line. When you come from these stations, it is convenient to take a taxi. The nearest subway stations are Hongo-san-chome on the Marunouchi line and the Oedo line, Nezu and Yushima on the Chiyoda line, and Todai-mae on the Nanboku line. You can walk to the university from these subway stations; it takes 10-15 minutes to the conference venue on foot.
Travel to the University
From Narita Airport Narita Airport is notoriously remote from the center of Tokyo (70 km), but there are rapid and reliable express trains and shuttle buses that depart frequently. It is most convenient to take a Keisei Skyliner train from Narita airport. The destination would be the Keisei-Ueno station. It takes about 40 minutes from the airport to this station. Another option is to take Narita express train operated by JR from the airport. It takes you to Tokyo station in about 55 minutes.
From Haneda Airport
Tokyo Monorail connects Haneda Airport with Hamamatsucho Station on the JR Yamanote Line. It takes about 20 minutes from Haneda to Hamamatsucho.
From JR Tokyo Station
There are various ways to come to the university from JR Tokyo station, but we recommend you to take Marunouchi subway line and get off at the fourth station, Hongo-san-chome. It takes about 10 minutes by subway from Tokyo to Hongo-san-chome.
