Excursion


Half-Day Excursion for International Committee Members

As the International Committee is to be held on the morning of March 27, members cannot join any full-day excursions. So we have arranged the special excursion for members only. After the meeting, which will end about 13:00, this excursion will start at 13:30 and come back at about 18:30.
The fee is 6,800 Yen per person with lunch-box (probably sandwich) included.

Half-Day excursion schedule:

13:30 Congress Site
14:00-15:00 Japanese Traditional Garden at Korakuen -
15:20-16:50 Sensoji Buddhist Temple with Nakamise traditional souvenir shopping center
17:10-17:55 Down the Sumida River by Boat
18:30 Congress Site

Also please declare any food restrictions if you have.

In addition, on-site registration will be available at the Travel Desk at the Congress Venue until 9:00 a.m. March 27.




Participants in IAHR 2005 Tokyo can join one of the excursions at reasonable prices. When you want to join, please fill the course number and the price in the Registration Form.

(a) Day's excursion focusing on Japanese religions, traditional and
modern
no longer accepting applications *
Mt. Takao, Shinnyo-en (Tachikawa), and Imperial mausolea (Tama)

(b) Day's excursion focusing on Shintonism and Buddhism in Tokyo no longer accepting applications *
Meiji Shrine, Yasukuni Shrine and the Sensoji temple

(c) Day's excursion to Kawasaki and Yokohama no longer accepting applications *
Kawasaki Daishi Temple, Yokohama China Town, foreigners' cemetary, and the Emperor Guan Temple

(d) Day's excursion focusing on medieval Kamakura no longer accepting applications *
Great Buddha, Tsurugaoka Shrine, and the temples of Kencho-ji, Enkaku-ji

Please send the application for an excursion, along with the fee, on or before 31 December 2004. After this date, the application for an excursion is accepted when there is a vacancy.

* We are very sorry to announce that we no longer are accepting applications for all the excursion because the number of applicants for the course has already reached its maximum.
