Comment | This is a typical example of “Rouletted Pattern Pottery Group Ⅱ from the Tokoro River Estuary Site.” This cylindrical form of pottery was distributed throughout eastern Hokkaido from the end of the Early Jomon period to the early stage of the Late Jomon period. Especially, this type of pottery was distributed from the end of the Early Jomon period to the early stage of the Middle Jomon period. This form was influenced by the series of Ento type pottery culture in southern Hokkaido. The key feature of this type of pottery is a rouletted pattern, comb teeth, or puncture marks on the body. |
