| Comment | Satsumon pottery takes the form of dishes and pedestalled dishes in addition to jars. Pedestalled dishes started to appear from Type e pottery according to Fujimoto’s chronology (1972), and the dish form declined as it was replaced. This is an example of Type g or Type e pottery (ibid), and the entire surface of body is decorated with herring-bone shaped incised lines. |
