ウィリアム・コールドレイク William H. Coaldrake
『The Way of the Carpenter: Tools and Japanese Architecture』（Weatherhill、1990年）は、京都伝統建築技術協会会員としての経験に基づいた私の最初の本である。
『Architecture and Authority in Japan』（Routledge、1996年）は、1989年および1991年のオックスフォード大学での一連の講義に基づいて編纂した。
さらに、日名子元雄 箸 『 城 』（至文堂 、1970年）を英訳し 、『Japanese Castles』（日本の城） として 1986年に講談社インターナショナルから出版した。また、陸奥広吉（1869－1942）編集の 『The British Press and the Japan-British Exhibition Of 1910』（英国報道陣と1910年日英博覧会）（Routledge Curzon）が2001年に再版されるに際して、序文、参考文献およびイラストを加えた。
1910年日英博覧会に出品された台徳院（徳川秀忠）霊廟の大型建築模型は、60年前に失われたが、1996年私が発見した。現在英国王室コレクションに含まれているこの大型建築模型を修復する計画に、10年程前から参加している。この模型は、昭和20年の東京大空襲で台徳院霊廟が焼失したことも相まって、ますます貴重な文化資源となっている。
さらに、2003年には、建築模型2点を、明治政府主導の下ウイーンで国際的に展示された初の作品であると鑑定し、現在ウイーン民族学博物館でその修復を支援している。この業績は『Orientations』で発表されている。
最近、 第二次世界大戦後、豪州市民として、また宣教師としても初めて来日した父の保管文書に序文と解説を寄せて『Japan from War to Peace: The Coaldrake Records 1939-1956』（日本 戦争から平和へ－コールドレイク夫妻の記録 1939～1956）（Routledge Curzon） として出版した。
現在、PhaidonPressより要請を受け、日本美術と建築の歴史に関する専門書（『Defining Moments in Japanese Art』）を執筆中で、完成間近である。本書は、英語圏の大学においては日本美術コースの教科書として、また世界各国の美術館および博物館においては日本コレクションの手引として使用されるであろう。
