Even: Bibliographical guide


About the Even language

Even belongs to Siberian (or. Evonkian) group of the Northern branch of the Manchu-Tungus languages, which, together with the Turkic and Mongol languages, enter the Altaic language family. Some scholars include Korean and Japanese into the Altaic language family as well.

Where the speakers live

Evens live in the North-Eastern territories of the Russian Federation: in the Magadan region, in the Chukot and the Koryak autonomous areas, in some districts of the Khabarovsk territory and in the Republic of Yakutia (Sakha).
