Chukchi belongs to the Chukchi-Koryak group of the Chukchi-Kamchatkan languages.

Where the speakers live

Chukchi is spoken in the Chukchi Autonomous Area, in the north-eastern part of the Koryak Autonomous Area, in the Nizhne-Kolymskiy (the Lower-Kolyma) district of the Republic of Yakutia (Sakha).
