"What Is a World (Literature)?"
A conversation between Pheng Cheah and David Damrosch
In his 2016 book What Is a World? On Postcolonial Literature as World Literature, Pheng Cheah challenges ideas of world literature based on the circulation of works around the globe, a basic theme of David Damrosch's What Is World Literature? (2003). In this session, Pheng Cheah and David Damrosch will debate and explore the convergences and divergences of postcolonial and world literary studies today.
Open to the public
