Comment | These artifacts were excavated together from a burial pit, which is considered to be from the first half of the Epi-Jomon period. Although no potteries or ornaments were found, approximately 400 stoneware items were found in this tomb, making it the most abundant in relation to stoneware at this site. In particular, 333 stone arrowheads of various shapes—such as flat-based stemless arrowheads, concave-based stemless arrowheads, and stemmed arrowheads—were found. It also contained knives, side scrapers, drills, axes, whetstones, and whole pieces of obsidian, the raw material that stoneware items were made of. |
