Comment | These artifacts were excavated together from a burial pit. Because of the presence of amber beads, this pit is assumed to be from the first half of the Epi-Jomon period. Approximately 1,200 flat amber beads were found in this tomb, which is fewer than the number of beads found in Pit 470. However, since each of these beads is larger, the amount of amber is equal to that found in Pit 470. Some stoneware, such as side scrapers, stone axes, flakes, and a stone core, were also buried. |
