Comment | These artifacts were excavated from a burial pit along with Utsunai Ⅱa type pottery from the Early Epi-Jomon period. The pottery shows features of the late stages of the Utsunai Ⅱa type pottery, such as looped handles. Therefore, this burial pit is considered to be from relatively late in the Early Epi-Jomon period. Many amber beads found in this pit are flat beads, while some are cylindrical. This burial pit also contained a flat shale pendant. |
