Comment | These artifacts were excavated together from a burial pit along with the Utsunai Ⅱa type pottery from the Early Epi-Jomon period. Amber beads that were buried along with a flat white shale pendant and an ornament have various shapes, including disk-shaped flat beads, spherical beads, and beads almost unprocessed. This is a feature also found in amber beads from the Early Epi-Jomon period. The pottery sherds also show features of the early stages of the Utsunai Ⅱa type pottery; for example, an everted rim. |
