CommentThese pottery vessels of the Nusamai type were unearthed from a burial pit from the second half of the Final Jomon period. The two small, deep bowls in the center were unearthed from the bottom of the burial pit. Additionally, fragments of four large, deep bowls were found on the stone alignments under the burial pit and its surroundings. It is probable that these were crushed or placed on the grave during the burial. There were a few cases where the graves remained on the top at the Tokoro River Estuary Site. This is valuable material for better understanding the gravesites from that time.
