CommentRausu type pottery belongs to the latter group of Hokuto pottery, which spread throughout eastern Hokkaido from the end of the Middle Jomon to the early Late Jomon period. The key features are that the rim is not thickened and that there is a cord-marking decoration with thin erased bands from the rim to the body.
