CommentA Type i pottery or the later than that according to Fujimoto’s chronology (1972), or the Late to Final Satsumon period according to Utagawa’s chronology (1980). A herring-bone decoration is marked by notches on the rim, and a zigzag pattern consisting of five to seven incised lines encompasses the body. Some parts of the surface show that the pot was heated.
