CommentAn early type of Satsumon pottery, which is Type b (Fujimoto’s chronology 1972). In the lower Tokoro River basin, there are few examples earlier than Type e (ibid), so this example and the one in No. 49 can be considered to be rather rare examples. The decoration patterns on the body are punctuated by horizontal incised lines, and a chevron-shaped incised line and puncture marks are filled in between the lines.
