CommentThe Tobinitai culture is an assimilated culture formed by the interaction of the Okhotsk culture and the Satsumon culture. This piece is a typical example of pottery from the first half of the Tobinitai culture that is called Tobinitai Pottery Group Ⅱ (Kikuchi 1972).
